We here so much about the importance of enterprise, and how we in the UK support it is going to be one of the issues central to the election debate. But who are the real catalysts of enterprise?

Is it the government - they do play a role in facilitating enterprise? In reality it can’t be the government, but it could be certain members of the government if they believe and support enterprise passionately and skilfully. Who could it be and why?

Is it the education system - how much impact can education have? Again it is probably focused upon specific teachers, managers and students - all of who have a massive role to play - but only certain ones are liable to be the real catalysts of enterprise. Who could it be and why?

Is it the people who decide to become self-employed and create their own businesses - are they the real drivers of enterprise? Who are the people whose enterprising mind and behaviour set drives the UK’s economy?

What about the public sector - Business Links, RDA’s, Local Authorities, Enterprise Agencies etc - who is it that makes a difference?

The Enterprise Catalyst itself plays a part, but lets find out who the real catalysts of enterprise are and accolade their contribution and success!!!

There have been a few articles rccently talking about the benefits and potential dangers of embracing positive psychology. Most recently this was raised in the Independent.

It begs another question for me - can entrepreneurs be really happy - there is a massive claim that we can, but with such a difficult job is it possible?

We have started to use the Enterprise Catalyst as a measure of well-being and the results are interesting if we accept that people’s sense of well-being relates to their contribution to society - both causal and as a result.

Interesting thoughts?

How is it possible to tackle the challenges of PLTS and PSHE when there are so many other demands being made upon teachers and students? I have been delivering a number of workshops recently introducing teachers to the . The response is amazing - a simple online profiling tool that gives personal development Enterprise Catalystfeedback to kids and teachers (and business owners) - is proving highly effective. What really pleases me is the way in which teachers identify so mkany different ways of building the Enterprise Catalyst into their work with students. Whilst the Enterprise catalyst was originally designed to develop enterprise skills - it is now clearly a tool which has many uses and help teachers to tackle many of the issues they face when dealing with PLTS and PSHE.

Take a look at the Enterprise Catalyst and get in touch if you have any questions.

Use of the Enterprise Catalyst is free!

Unfortunately this usually requires a few sessions of CPD, but this is becoming increasingly difficult as teachers are struggling to get released to attend. Are there any answers to this challenge?
